Arts in the Annex
Check out this page for events that are happening in our outdoor tented space!
The “Annex” is a restored structure located on the grounds of the Alton Mill Art Centre. Historically it was the building used to store wool when the Art Centre was used as a knitting mill. With funds received from the Ontario Trillium Fund, we were able to purchase and install a tented roof over the Annex making it the perfect place to host outdoor events such as concerts, art shows, markets, weddings, etc!
Tapestry of Art and Music brings visual art and live music together in a single immersive experience. Up to 100 works of art will be exhibited alongside a special performance by the Sonus Voices of Hamilton.
Each artwork becomes a “note” in a larger composition, responding—literally or emotionally—to sound, rhythm, harmony, or silence. Artists may draw inspiration from any form of music—classical, choral, jazz, folk, contemporary, cultural, or imagined—and are free to interpret music in literal or abstract ways. Referencing a specific piece of music is optional.
Participating artists must register to receive a free 6” × 6” x 1-1/2” blank canvas. We provide the canvas; you create and donate your original work. No entry fee.
Please view the call below to register to participate as an artist!

ART Show EVENT
Sunday, June 7, 2026
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
@ Alton Mill Arts Centre in the outdoor Annex
Headwaters Arts presents the 4th annual “Tapestry of Art and Music”, a musically themed, art show and sale on Sunday, June 7th, 20256 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the outdoor, tented Annex at the Alton Mill Arts Centre in Caledon. This magical event showcases over 80 original 6” x 6” canvas masterpieces by Ontario artists, beautifully arranged into a vibrant mosaic tapestry wall. Artists were invited to pour their imagination into it, creating a breathtaking tapestry wall alive with colour, texture, and expression. Set against the rich musical backdrop of Sonus Voices, a low-voice tenor ensemble from the Burlington–Hamilton area, it’s a feast for all who attend. We are deeply grateful to all who share their talent, time, creativity and passion in support of our organization. The result is something truly magical—a stunning tapestry of artistic spirit brought to life.
Says Nancy Kluger, Chair of the Events Committee for Headwaters Arts, “Our goal is to bring together visual artists alongside exceptional musical talent from across Ontario in a vibrant celebration of creativity. This year, we are delighted to feature for the first time a performance by Sonus Voices, whose rich harmonies will beautifully complement the visual experience. Now in our 4 th season, this beloved event continues to flourish with an ever-growing wave of enthusiasm and support.”
We invite you to browse and shop while enjoying delicious refreshments. While the event is free, we welcome a $10-$20 per person donation to support the event. All proceeds from the sale of art works support Headwaters Arts. The not-for-profit organization’s goal is to stay resilient and continue to grow their year-round Headwaters Arts Gallery programming/operations/shows.
As an added feature of the event, the family of acclaimed Canadian artist Cory Trepanier has generously donated a signed reproduction. At the close of the event, a draw will be held for this remarkable artwork. The striking work, “Cape Hotham”, Cornwallis Island, Nunavut, Canada, is beautifully framed, measures an impressive 17” x 41” and is valued at $1,500. Guests will receive one draw ticket with every$20 donation, as well as each artwork purchase, for a chance to win this exceptional piece.

Margi Taylor, Acting President of Headwaters Arts adds, “This is a celebration of the coming of summer and the chance to view and purchase original works of art created by so many talented both young and more experienced Headwaters Arts/Ontario artists. If you care about the importance of arts in our communities and the value of our art organization and how it supportsartists, then please, stop by, browse, enjoy the music and consider purchasing one or more of the stunning pieces.”
If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP to help us plan for seating and refreshments. Thank you!
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and on which the Region of Peel operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Ani-shinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
