JoAna Iturriaga : Blank Canvas Music Box

Kitchener Artist, JoAna Iturriaga, says, “My sculpture, is a music box with a blank canvas, a rejuvenation of an artist that reinvents herself with every new challenge and every new canvas.”

Rejuvenation opens  March 20, 2024 and runs until April 21, 2024.

Everyone is invited to meet the artists at the official opening Reception to be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1-3 pm at the Headwaters Gallery in the Alton Mill Arts Centre, Alton, Ontario.

Nester Mejia: Spring Literally, 12 x 12 acrylic

Joanne Lomas: Sunny Day, 10 x 20 in, acrylic

Artist Joanne Lomas from Wasaga Beach says,“My body of work created plays with a light and airy exploration of line and colour. The expressive lines create an energy that I feel during the first weeks of
spring, and an excitement for what the new season will bring. With fresh clean colours on a white background I reflect the idea of growing buds on spring plants beginning their new life out of the starkness of the snow.”

The Headwaters Arts Gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and holiday Mondays,

Alton Mill Arts Centre, 1402 Queen Street West, Alton, Ontario.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and on which the Region of Peel operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Ani-shinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
