Millcroft Inn Artworks

In partnership with the Millcroft Inn, Headwaters Arts members can apply and be selected to hang their art here in the Headwaters Restaurant for a two month period.

The artwork is for sale and when you purchase art here, you are not only supporting a local artist, part of the proceeds goes to supporting Headwaters Arts, a local not-for-profit organization supporting local emerging and established artists in the Headwaters region.

Many thanks to the Millcroft Inn for graciously providing the opportunity for artist members of Headwaters Arts to display their art in the Headwaters Restaurant.

Andrea Taylor: Chromatic Canopy

As an artist deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the Muskoka and Georgian Bay region, I am thrilled to present “Chromatic Canopy.” This collection celebrates the vibrant interplay of colors found in the trees and lakes of this stunning landscape. Each piece is an homage to the rich, dynamic hues that define these natural wonders, capturing the essence of the changing seasons and the serene majesty of the wilderness.

Through my work, I aim to evoke a sense of awe and appreciation for the delicate ecosystems that thrive within these regions. The intricate dance of light and color in these paintings is a reminder of the profound connection we share with nature. It is my hope that “Chromatic Canopy” not only delights the senses but also inspires a deeper commitment to preserving and protecting the environment that fuels such creative inspiration.

In an age where natural habitats face increasing threats, my art seeks to underscore the urgent need for environmental stewardship. By celebrating the beauty of these landscapes, I invite viewers to reflect on their own relationship with nature and to consider the actions we can all take to ensure that these breathtaking scenes remain unspoiled for future generations.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and on which the Region of Peel operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Ani-shinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
