2023 Headwaters Gallery Show Schedule

Jan 11 – Feb 12: ReLaunch 2023

New Year! New Beginnings!

Feb 15 – Mar 19: Dark Into Light

Our theme Dark Into Light can evoke many different ideas or thoughts. Winter can be a dark time for some, for others the shadows on the snow are a delight, still others are longing for longer days and more sunshine. Perhaps you are simply reminded of differing colour values. Artwork will express your inner voice, be it a commentary, an experience/memory of overcoming darkness or just a delightful work that may speak to a viewer.

Mar 22 – Apr 23: Wild and Free

After a long winter hibernation, all of nature is poised to break free. We are looking for your best expression of “flora and fauna” – those wonderful earthly delights that emerge in spring, and inspire artists to create.

Apr 26 – May 28: Proposal Show (see call to artists)

May 31 – July 2: A Round the Square

Are you a Square or a Round aficionado? Here is your opportunity to participate in a Members’ show to showcase your creative spirit. Submissions are for 12” square or 12″ diameter works, be it in various mediums or 3-dimensional work (to fit in a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ space).  So come out and Be Square, Embrace the Curve or both.

Jul 5 – Aug 7: Proposal Show (see call to artists)

Aug 9 – Sep 10: As The Story Goes

As the story goes, sometimes the artist’s narrative takes a turn. Taking a risk allows their work to unfold in an unexpected direction. This is the opportunity for exploration of a narrative waiting to emerge. Headwaters Arts invites members to submit 2 or 3 dimensional work that portrays a story to captivate the viewer.

Sep 13 – Oct 1: Fall Festival Open Juried Show

Oct 4 – Nov 5: Proposal Show (see call to artists)

Nov 8 – Jan 7, 2024: Artful Giving 2023

Annual holiday gift show and sale featuring affordable, giftable art created with love by our artists.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and on which the Region of Peel operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Ani-shinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
